Aerophone Community Band
Aerophone is a not-for-profit community concert band established in 2009 for woodwind, brass, and percussion players in the Hudson Valley. Since our founding, we’ve offered hundreds of local musicians the opportunity to challenge, develop, and refine their skills behind the leadership and close mentorship of our conductor, Vic Esposito. We play a diverse selection of pieces, ranging from the works of Sousa and Shostakovich, to popular contemporary film scores, and everything in between. Over the fifteen years since our founding, we’ve held hundreds of free-admission concerts at various venues, festivals, care homes, and public spaces, promoting the appreciation and growth of the musical arts across the Hudson Valley.
Aerophone welcomes both past and present concert band musicians of varied experience levels and backgrounds. Our members range from advanced high school students, to intermediate-level adults years-removed from their last band class, to former band directors & professional musicians. Countless members will recount the years their instrument remained stowed-away in a closet, wishing they could play again, only to rediscover and rekindle their love for music after joining the band— be the next! Prospective new members are welcomed to attend a rehearsal of the Spring or Fall session, no commitment, to see if Aerophone is a good fit for you. Click here to learn more.
Meet the Conductor
We are pleased to announce and welcome Vic Esposito as the new director of Aerophone starting in the Fall Semester of 2019. Vic is no stranger to Aerophone and has substituted for our founding director, Rich Holod, on many occasions. We are so grateful for his years of hard work with the band so far. Find out more about Vic on our Music Directors Page.
